Snakes & Ladders, not!

Here's Scott and the girls' idea of a game of snakes & ladders; beats having to wait for your turn to throw the die and skip a few steps doesn't it?

I thought I had found a cool way to edit my video clips, with fade in/out and other effects, but although the movie maker worked well yesterday, it didn't at all today, drats. Why? Because yesterday's was part of the software bundle for Scott's computer, and today's was a free download version, sigh... end.

Showtime at the Padang

The arts fest turned 30 this year, and organisers celebrated by opening for the 1st time (in recent years at least) with an open-air show. Admission was free, which of course attracted a good crowd. The group from Spain performed aerial 'stunts' in a wheel which reminded me somewhat of pet hamsters. Later, some 36 performers formed an aerial human net. The impressive bit was that these were local volunteers. Above's a pro shot of the 'net', taken from the Straits Times Interactive.

The show ended with fireworks. Pretty, especially with the city lights as a backdrop. end.

A day at the seaside

I've sent you a beach pic with all three children in it. I-Shan loved the beach and kept wanting to run straight into the surf. Ekath liked the sand better and the next day he decided that he wasnt going anywhere near the water, for fear of sharks! Elesh loved it all.

Blast from the past

9 April 2007: Another belated entry. Daphne was assigned to interview Keith Floyd at the World Gourmet Summit 2007, and was here on my birthday. Together with Flo, we celebrated 30 years of friendship, and in style some more, at the Hyatt :)

Langkawi

Fri 27 Apr: Almost a year since my last beach holiday! Finally got to Langkawi, thanks to Scott *muack!* Arrived late evening, lurvely view of hotel lobby.

You can look into the bathroom and tub through the bedroom if you want to, naughty!

The spa was under renovation and services were moved to one of the villas, so we got to check it out, 5 bedrooms, nice.
Also nice is Taste restaurant where we had buffet breakfast (roti canai, century egg porridge, nasi lemak, aaah.... ). Dinner was more challenging, until we decided to go for buffet as well :P

The room, like Taste, had a view of the sea and you could see the hotel jetty from the balcony. It rained quite a bit, but it was ok, indoors was cozy :) But we did manage to catch a Langkawi sunset, sweet.

Time Flies

It's been two months since the last entry, wow. Belated post: turned out Shyun Wen was in Singapore for a longer while this year, so we had another round of 'reunion' for the ex-flatmates. Another snapshot of gals celebrating our big 4'O' year. See how far we've come! Here's to more good years ladies... keep healthy, happy and in touch, hugs.
